The Anterior Hip Foundation strives to improve care for patients undergoing anterior total hip arthroplasty.

 to Charles Lawrie, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon with Baptist Health Orthopedic Care, who has been elected president of the Anterior Hip Foundation (AHF)—a globally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing anterior approach total hip arthroplasty through education, innovation and surgical excellence. The anterior approach offers key benefits including faster recovery, reduced postoperative pain, lower dislocation risk and quicker return to function.  

According to the Foundation, Dr. Lawrie has been a driving force within the AHF community over the last few years and recently served as vice president of the organization, which aims to continue improving care for patients undergoing anterior total hip arthroplasty. Dr. Lawrie is considered a thought leader and innovator in anterior approach hip arthroplasty, and he is committed to advancing surgical education about this approach on a global scale. He has played a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the organization, established by world-renowned anterior approach pioneer Joel Matta, M.D., of Vail, Colo.

Under Dr. Lawrie's leadership, AHF aims to expand its reach as a year-round platform for mentorship, surgical collaboration and clinical excellence, further uniting a global network of orthopedic surgeons around the shared goal of improving patient outcomes through innovation and education.
