Dr. Lozano is committed to improving care for people living with headache disorders. Her academic and scholarly work has explored migraine and other neurological conditions. Her research has examined the safety and effectiveness of pain medications during pregnancy and lactation, treatments for refractory chronic migraine and therapies for cluster headache. She has presented research at meetings of the American Headache Society and American Academy of Neurology.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Lozano to Griffin Neuroscience Institute,” said Diego Torres-Russotto, M.D., chief of neurology at Griffin Neuroscience Institute. “Her specialized training in headache medicine and commitment to education will strengthen our ability to provide thoughtful, individualized neurological care to the diverse communities we serve.”

Beyond her clinical research, Dr. Lozano is passionate about advancing health equity. During her residency, she participated in a quality improvement initiative focused on stroke education for Latino communities in West Michigan. She has also contributed to educational efforts through the American Headache Society focused on improving urgent and emergency migraine care.

Dr. Lozano earned her medical degree from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Michigan. She completed her neurology residency at Trinity Health Grand Rapids, followed by a headache medicine fellowship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Lozano takes a holistic, patient-centered approach to care. “Headache disorders can affect many aspects of a person’s daily life, so I believe it is important to listen carefully and understand each patient’s individual experience,” she said. “I work collaboratively with my patients to develop treatment plans that reflect their needs, preferences and goals.”

Dr. Lozano is fluent in English and Spanish. She will see patients at 8950 North Kendall Drive, Suite 104W, Miami.
