Board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon Marc Gibber, M.D., joins Baptist Health as the new medical director and chief of cardiothoracic surgery at Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital East.

He previously worked as a cardiovascular surgeon at Baptist Health Hospital at Miami and Baptist Health South Miami Hospital. Dr. Gibber performs a wide variety of procedures, including open-heart bypass surgery, arterial grafting, valve repair or replacement, and treats pulmonary disease.

Dr. Gibber earned his medical degree at University of Maryland Medical School. He then completed a general surgery residency, cardiothoracic research fellowship and cardiothoracic surgery residency at University of Maryland Medical Center. After his graduate medical education, Dr. Gibber worked as a cardiothoracic surgeon for hospitals in Florida and Tennessee.
