Marcos A. Nores, M.D., board-certified cardiac surgeon, has joined Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care as medical director of Christine E. Lynn Heart & Vascular Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, part of Baptist Health. Dr. Nores specializes in mitral valve repair, aortic root and thoracic aorta surgery, coronary reoperations and transcatheter treatment of structural heart disease. Widely regarded as one of the region’s most respected cardiac surgeons, he brings extensive expertise in transcatheter therapies and a long-standing reputation for exceptional clinical outcomes. His clinical expertise includes complex reoperative cardiac procedures and management of patients with endocarditis and advanced cardiac conditions. He is also known for his highly collaborative approach, working closely with cardiologists across the region to ensure seamless, multidisciplinary care.

Dr. Nores joins Baptist Health with more than 25 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery and clinical leadership. Prior to joining the organization, he served as medical director of cardiovascular services at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida. He previously led the cardiothoracic surgery program at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Throughout his career, Dr. Nores has earned recognition as an accomplished surgeon whose expertise is frequently sought for the most complex surgical and transcatheter cases.

Dr. Nores earned his medical degree at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Argentina. He completed his internship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, followed by a general surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He also served as clinical associate at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.
Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Nores has authored or co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed studies published in journals such as The Journal of Cardiac Surgery, Aorta and The Texas Heart Institute Journal. His research explores innovations in valve repair, aortic disease management and transcatheter valve procedures.
